My Crocs MegaSale 2013 Experience

I am always a fan of comfy yet stylish shoes. It's never been easy to find and get this perfect combo without paying a good price. Yeah, a price that sometimes can ripped off your pocket. I am a self confessed "salepaholic" coz I only avail real good stuffs during price cutdowns.

I want to give my million thanks to Twitter and Instagram where I found out the Crocs Megasale infos. I live 8 hours away from Manila but distance didn't stop me to experience this once in a year event.

I arrived in the Metro at 5:00 AM and after taking my breakfast and a quick shower, I went straight to NBC Tent, that's quiet far from my place in Sta Mesa but thanks goodness cos there was no heavy traffic during those early hours. I was a bit surprise when I saw people queuing earlier than me. I was like, "oh no, I'm not the first one"... I was maybe on the 50th but the best part was I was able to get a seat and waited for almost 4 hours under a shed/tent.

At 10 AM, finally, the gate was opened and everybody was very excited and yes, that includes me. I went inside with my big red and white striped bag which they provided on site. At first, I didn't know what to choose cos there are gazillions of crocs shoes. It's like I was in a factory loaded with boxes and boxes and boxes of shoe wears. I needed to make a round first while others were like in a competition struggling to get their eyed designs and sizes. Others were enjoying fitting and finally putting in their plastic bags. I then organized my thoughts and started to shop.

I collected pairs and went to a corner with my calculator and just like in an exam, I did the process of elimination. It was great cos I can see others doing the same thing. I ended up buying 8 pairs all in all plus a bag with a free crocs strap.

It was a very memorable, exciting and enjoyable experience to be a part of this event, and I will go for more future price cut down again and again and again. It's my favorite shoe wear brand already because of the comfort and lightweight it offers. It's all worth the wait. Thank you @crocsPh!

Just Got Lucky!

Online shopping  has now become a "peg"  to busy people who work beyond mall/shop hours or to those who do not find malling interesting or to someone like me who is looking for big discounts, good deals or the famous "online offers only" tags.

I have been looking for a reliable, legitimate and trusted sellers online aside from sites like +eBay and +Amazon.com for stuffs I can't find locally. I tried purchasing from these two giant sites via +PayPal and I did not get any problems nor complications with the transactions. This experience gave me the confidence to shop online.

Last December, I was able to convinced my parents to get me a tablet and they asked me where will they buy, but I told them to just hand me the money and I'll take care of it. So I started researching what would be the best for me with regards to my lifestyle and personality. I eyed for an iPad mini because I tried Apple's iPhone and iPod already which didn't fail me so far. I checked the tablet's price but unfortunately it didn't fit my budget that's why I just decided not to buy yet and waited for future price drops. One time as I was browsing my Facebook account I found this online page named Kimstore. I checked the gadgets and obviously they have lower prices compared to other shops. I read some feed backs  and I found it reliable, so from then on I always spend a minute or two in their page looking for new updates until my budget fits on the gadget I wanna avail. I was supposed to do a meet up with them but to my big surprise I saw this post! A BIG YES for me!!!

I had  a second thought  after reading this because I kept asking myself where can I find a shop offering a 5K off? I mean this is too good to be true isn't it? A business needs a profit more than the capital. But honestly, I did not get into my non REM sleep thinking about this promo that's why the next day, I sent a tweet to @kimstore Twitter account as stated in guideline No. 1 and good thing...response was quick.

As soon as I reached home, I placed my order via +Shop at Multiply site, proceeded to checkout and look, it's true, 5K was deducted from the total cost using the promo code Kimstore had provided.

After that, I received this email from Multiply.

I paid via BPI because according to my readings, it is faster than credit cards when it comes to verifications.

After that, an email from Multiply was received together with Kimstore's comment about the shipping details.

The next day, I received my item via LBC, safe and sound.

Here! Finally....

Together with this is a letter from Miss Kim and the warranty slip.

It was a quick and hassle free transaction from Kimstore! I recommend this shop to my friends, and of course, I am thankful for the discount! More power Kimstore! xx

In a relationship with The BIG GUY

I should be writing this blog the next coming days but I just can't stop myself coming infront of my laptop. It's like there's a force pulling me near and a voice telling me, "Come on, write, share and bless others." So here I am, I found myself, writing something worth reading for, I'm sure.

In my last blog, I wrote about "the need of something worth remembering  first purchase for the new year", and you know what, I bought not just worth remembering but the best ever book existing in a man's world. I love reading books especially the inspirational ones or something that is with regards about our Creator.

Last year, I bought Pastor Ru dela Torre's Roadtrip and Back on Track which changed  my perception about relationships. I didn't know about this two books until one of my friends in Twitter and also a classmate of mine in the med school started to read it, and then, he shared the words by posting the quotable quotes which really caught my attention. I went the next day to the bookstore but it was out of stock so I need to wait for a few weeks and finally got them in Manila. After I finished reading, my friends borrowed them and last Christmas, I gave it as a present to a friend of mine. I don't have a picture of the two books but I give the credits to the one who owns this which I got it from the internet.

Back on Track and Roadtrip

Another book that I have read last year was Joshua Harris's I Kissed Dating Goodbye. It's obviously about dating, how to wait patiently and the importance of singleness. It's suited to single ladies and bachelors out there.

I Kissed Dating Goodbye

This year, I am so keen in building a closer relationship with Him. I decided to buy something that will remind me that I am loved and favored in everything I do as long as it is based on the best ever written book by the most powerful author named God. I lost my youth bible two years ago and since then, I used the internet to read for the Words. It's convenient but there are times that connection isn't good so I have to buy a bible, where I can bring and read anywhere I go, with or without an internet connection.

I was surprised when I was in the bookstore because I planned to get NIV, black in color, soft bound bible as a typical one looked like....But charannnn....Girly, fashionable, colorful ones came in my way! I was so excited and I had a hard time choosing what color should I get. From tangerines to purple, tell it, they have it!

Isn't it nice?

I super love this!

I bought this purple/green shades combination because I really like it and it looks so chic! Actually, the cover isn't important, but it adds color for enjoyable reading to the Words.

While on the queue for payment, I also saw this one and got it for daily readings.

I am so excited to know more about Him. I guess this is worth buying for and I am so much sure I made the best purchase this year! Happy reading! :)

Get The Ball Rollin' 2013

I wanna greet each and everyone a Happy New Year! Yuhooo! A new year to face and enjoy the abundance of life! So it's a fact, 12/21/12 "end of the world" gossips aren't true! Can everybody shout,
W-E-L-C-O-M-E  2-0-1-3!!!

Well, first and foremost, I really don't know how to start my new year. I want something memorable or something worth remembering, so, it's kinda hard to decide what to do or what to buy as my firsts this year. Because I am a home buddy nowadays ( seriously! ), I cannot plan anything interesting aside from my wild imaginations. LOL! Oh yes!..you read it right, wild imaginations!I need environmental stimulations, I guess. But don't get me wrong I am talking about something far from what you are thinking right now. Peace ya'll!

A month ago,  promoters came to our university for some offers about a newly opened spa within the vicinity (I study in Vigan City). Me and my classmates signed up for a membership worth 400Php with a lot of freebies and coupons which I think was a good deal since we always go to spa for relaxations after stressful days at the uni. We girls deserve something like this, and it's far better than shopping! I sound like being defensive at this point... :)

I went to Bare and Bloom Spa after my class today to finally enjoy my privileges and reward myself for all my achievements last year. The place is located in Casa Maria, just  the corner of Gen Luna and Gen Reyes St. Honestly, I had a hard time looking for the place because of the enchanting one way streets of the city. Well, if you like walking, it's just a few yards nearby to the more famous Red Dot Boutique.

Reception

I wasn't able to avail my freebies because I didn't not book for an appointment. Yes, you need to book an appointment before going there because they got only 3 therapists, instead I had a foot spa. I waited for about 20 minutes for them to prepare their stuffs. The waiting area is just infront the reception.

Inside the Spa

I always have a hard time when I go for foot spa, I still have this tickling effect and it's so funny that I need to stop myself from being violent. I don't want to hurt the therapist though. It's like, if I'm going to die laughing, I should go to a spa and let it done. Hahaha! Well, overall, the service is quick but not as like as the other spas, they don't have the relaxing ambiance which I always love. To make it short, it's budget friendly.

Happy Feet

So, this is my first treat to myself this year, and I'll be posting on my next blog the first ever purchase I had. Always remember, relax and have fun! Have a break, have a spa date :)

Paskuhan 2012

I am 101% sure that I am just  one of the gazillion people in the whole wide world who loves December. Not just because it is  the birth month of our Jesus Christ but it is also my natal month. Yes yes yow! I am a December baby. So how's that people? *wink

Parol

Never mind what is written above, I'm just simply reminding you that my birthday is soon. My dear girls and guys, you still have a week to go shop or make something for me....Too much for my self centered interest, let's now move on to the real thing, the main topic for this blog.

Alad Bar and Resort

Last night, the UNP College of Medicine celebrated the Annual Year End Party at Alad Bar and Resort. The freshmen were in charge for this year's event, and they decided a Filipino themed party, tagged as "Paskuhan 2012".  They put stalls of typical Filipino street foods and banderitas, as well as parols which made the ambiance more Pinoyish.

To put some flavor in the party, games were initiated and as a Filipino citizen, I was one of the brave contender for the Pinoy Henyo together with my sister. I did my best, but, unfortunately, it didn't work. Haha! Other games played were "Tic Tac Boom" and "Binting,Salapi,Seventyfive,Piso."

The players doing seventy five in the "Binting,Salapi, Seventy Five, Piso" game

Tic Tac Boom  made them look like this!

Kathy: Favorite ko? Lyka: Oo! K:Apple? L: Hindi! K: Eh apple ang favorite ko?!

Every year level was also informed to present something and the best performer will take home a million pesos, kiddin'! Because we were naturally born talented with excessive self confidence level, we rendered a song and a dance not only once but twice. I don't know if they gave the award to us out of pity, or  maybe they were really impressed to our extra vavaboom performance . *evil laugh

The Best Dancer, Genel

The most awaited part of the party is no need to mention. The menu was superb! I love the food! I really do. I think everyone had a full tummy and 300 Php for a buffet was really a good deal.

Diet as tolerated guys!

I would like to give a billion thanks to my friend, Aizle, for letting me use her shots because I went to the party without charging my camera's battery. Boooo! I can't find any clerks' pictures :(

Congratulations to the Freshmen for a job well done! The hosts kept the party alive from start to end especially Chrian who is a Vice Ganda in the making. We had a blast!

We should not forget the true essence of this Christmas Season. Always remember, it's better to give than to receive. Happy Holidays and God bless everyone!

Let's have some fun from North to South

I was already on bed when the idea of writing about the places I have traveled this year suddenly popped up in my head. Yes! It's kinda  impulsive to get up, turn on the laptop and compile the pictures in the middle of the night but  I've done it anyway.

I am not a tourist nor a traveler, but I'm so keen in going to different places. I like the fact that being away from my comfort zone---I mean home, allows me to experience new adventures, new learnings and of course, NEW PHOTOS on Facebook, Twitter etc. Ooops! Just kidding :) But seriously, travelling is one of the few interests that I am into.

So here are the places I've been this year. Seat back and relax as I take you way up from North down to the South.

Who would have thought that this Thai inspired garden is just a few minutes away from Manila? (Cavite)

I paid a short visit to the smallest active volcano on earth,  the ever famous Taal Volcano (Tagaytay)

Known for it's mouthwatering dried mangos, I flew down South to see the oldest city in the Philippines (Cebu)

Curious about the appearance of the world's smallest primate, the Tarsier and the "yummiest" hills ever, Chocolate Hills (Bohol)

Powdery white sands, clear and relaxing view of the sun, sea and sky! I must say, heaven is a place on earth!  (Panglao Island)

Never sleep on the road, you might missed the best part of the travel  before reaching the "Boracay of the North"  (Pagudpud)

Aside from peanut brittles, strawberry jams and etc.,the Summer Capital of the Philippines offers a variety of great tourist spots  (Baguio City)

Wohooo! Did I ever bore you? Well,  FYI, my travel is always on a tight budget. You can't see me in  luxurious hotels or beach resorts, because I prefer adventure rather than comfort, chos! Uhhmm, I think maybe I just enjoy that way.

On a brighter side, I'm still thankful that despite of the busy and tough schedules in the med school, I still find time to at least relax and give myself a break whenever I get a chance. We have only one life to live and I thank God for being so generous to me. Such a fruitful and wonderful 2012 travel destinations I had. God bless!

Narvacan's 3rd Bagnet Festival Street Dancing Competition

It was a shame I wasn't able to attend and witness the weeklong celebration of the 3rd Bagnet Festival here in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur (town located south of Vigan City) due to med school stuffs. Luckily, streetdancing competition  was scheduled on Saturday (meaning, no class for me), so I went at around 2 PM and decided to stay in Station 2, just behind the People's Complex. Here are some of my snap shots.

Narvacan Catholic School's feminish costumes, nice make ups too!

Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College's Aztec inspired outfits ( my fave shot)

Lungog Integrated School's colourful and energetic performance

Sulvec Integrated School in their "Tansan Made Eco-Friendly" get up

Narvacan National Central High School's lovely headdresses

Imelda National High School's Filipiana inspired kimonos

San Pedro National High School's "ponkan" coloured outfits, so 2012!

Aside from Narvacan based secondary schools, open category (invitational) was also welcomed featuring their own hometown's festivals. Here they are:

Mannalon Festival of Marcos, Ilocos Norte

Lames Festival of Bucay, Abra

Pindangan Festival of San Fernando City, La Union

Abel Festival of Caoayan, Ilocos Sur

Panagyaman Festival of Sta. Lucia, Ilocos Sur

Anyway, I would like to give a special space to him/her, simply because he/she got a very sweet smile :)

There was also a float parade competition during the weekdays and I heard that ISECO's one gained the 1st prize.

After the street dancing, we all headed up to Narvacan Mall for the showdown and the traffic was so heavy, look!

The area was so packed, but thanks to Edgar ( a former classmate) who allowed me to enter and I was able to get a seat on the stage. I had a very nice view, isn't it obvious?

Face and Body winners

I went home right after the last performer because I was so sleepy already. According to Ma'am Jo Cabras, results are as follows:

  Narvacan Based Category:

 Champion: Lungog Integrated School
1st runner up:  San Pedro National High School
2nd runner up: Narvacan National Central High School

 Open Category:

Champion : San Fernando City, La Union
1st runner up:   Marcos, Ilocos Norte
 2nd runner up: Bucay, Abra

Congratulations to everyone especially to Mayor Zuriel, the organizers, staffs and to all Narvacaneos for the successful 3rd Bagnet Festival! God bless.
